The idea is to use 5G/6G, Satellite, Wireline telecommunications systems, and sensors in conjunction with the Meteorological services to develop an alert system that uses AI to assist citizens caught up in a weather emergency. For example, in the case of a heat wave, a fire or a severe drought, data would be sent to the emergency services, first responders, civil defence and the fire brigade. The AI system would be used with drones, GPS/GNSS and sensors to predict where the casualties are located and would assist paramedics to predict and anticipate what injuries they might have and help the emergency staff to treat it. Using IMS (IP Multi-Media Sub Systems) telecoms lines, GPS and IP Cameras located in the hospitals, it would also ascertain which hospital in the area would have capacity to treat multiple casualties and the system would also send a report to the waiting staff in the hospital on the condition of the casualty. In this case of a severe drought, sensors places at strategic points, alongside roads exits, gullies and septic tanks would detect and monitor the progression of harmful bacteria in the case of a drought, and use GPS,GNSS, Satellite networks and AI to predict the what areas would be affected, the type of illness and bacterial infections that would be likely to spread. For fires it would detect the severity and the speed at which they would spread and the areas most likely to be affected. All this data would be sent to the relevant medical professionals, emergency services, first responders etc to help with planning and treatment of the casualties. In the event of a flood or a bad storm, AI could be used to predict what areas including rivers and roads would be most likely to flood or have fallen trees or debris and suffer structural damage such as landslides, but also which would be the clearest and safest route to bring the casualties to the hospitals. We are looking for partners in Ireland, the UK and in Europe to design and test this system.
Atlantic Wireless operate in the M2M, IoT, Scada, Emergency Services and Business Broadband space across a wide range of industries in the EMEA region. We focus on mission-critical & business-critical applications and deliver customised, high quality, robust, secure and reliable solutions to our customers. As every application is different we use a combination of wireless, satellite and fiber optic transmission methods to implement a solution. For example this could be a private 5G cellular network, a licensed RF Point to Point solution with fail-over to cellular radio or vice-versa, Cellular with fail-over to Satellite. Fiber Optic with fail-over to Cellular, Satellite or RF Point to Point or vice-versa etc. Alternatively we may combine multiple transmission lines, both wireline and wireless, to enhance connectivity, conserve energy and improve security.
