My primary research interests are in communication theory, signal processing, convex and distributed optimisation theory, and their applications to low-complexity, energy-efficient solutions for multi-antenna wireless systems.
Specific research topics include: low-resolution and 1-bit massive MIMO, extremely large MIMO (XL-MIMO) and holographic MIMO, distributed and cell-free massive MIMO.
The University of Oulu is an international science university that fosters new knowledge, well-being, and innovations. It is one of Finland's largest and most multidisciplinary universities, with 14,000 students and nearly 4,000 employees, and is located in the north of Finland.
The Centre for Wireless Communications (CWC) is recognised as one of the world’s leading and most active research centres in wireless technologies, with a team of 400 researchers from 50 different countries. CWC features the Research Council of Finland’s Flagship programme 6G Flagship (https://www.oulu.fi/6gflagship), which is the world’s first major 6G research programme running from 2018 to 2028.
