EXAPSYS focuses on the following areas:
Efficient HPC Applications: Develop efficient HPC applications, incorporating several novel in-house tools, taking full advantage of the capabilities of next generation heterogeneous HPC systems.
Parallel FPGA-based systems: Develop FPGA-based systems utilized in CPS (e.g. multi drone-based surveillance system) and in Cloud (e.g. homomorphically encrypted data processing) environments.
Exploiting Research Results: Exploit the results from Research Centers in the areas of heterogeneous Cloud and HPC systems and applications by expanding/ tuning them to real industrial needs.
Highly Secure Systems: Develop systems (consisting of specialized HW and low-level SW), utilized in CPS and in Cloud, with high resilience to numerous security attacks.
EXAPSYS is an SME focused on research and development of embedded and HPC systems. It is actively participating in bodies that promote the development of critical computing systems for Europe (European Processor Initiative - EPI, European Technology Platform for High Performance Computing - ETP4HPC). Currently, it is involved into the following Horizon projects, namely eProcessor - GA #800928 (support on the software and hardware layers), EUPilot - GA #101034126 (leading the development of the board -schematics and layout- that will host the RISC-V processor chip of the EUPILOT project), EUPEX - GA #101033975 (development of the EUPEX GPU blade providing technical support in the specification, design, bring-up and testing of the blade), RISER - GA #101092993 and HIGHER - GA #101189612 (manufacturing of RISER and HIGHER PCBs and component assembly), and REBECCA - GA #101097224 (PCB design, manufacturing, assembly of the REBECCA platform).
