Brief description of my Organisation

"Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University of Iasi (TUIasi) ( https://www.tuiasi.ro/?lang=en and https://cercetare.tuiasi.ro and http://www.international.tuiasi.ro ) is an advanced research and education university, whose mission is to carry out specific activities of creation, innovative capitalization of knowledge and its transfer to society in the fundamental fields of Engineering Sciences, Architecture and Urban Planning , as well as in interdisciplinary and complementary fields, in the local community, at the regional, national and international level.

The scientific research activity of the "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University of Iasi considers three fundamental components: (a) fundamental and applied research; (b) technological development and (c) innovation, and is carried out through contracts/grants with national and international funding, from public or private funds. The research-development-innovation activity (CDI) is coordinated by the Vice-Chancellor responsible for the research-development and innovation activity at the university level and by the relevant Vice-Deans at the faculty level.

Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi is among the oldest and best-known higher education institutions in our country, with an important tradition in engineering, scientific and cultural education and a thriving presence on the international scene. Our professors and researchers strive to polish this high-end research and education into one of the best in Romania. TUIASI comprises 11 faculties providing over 60 undergraduate programmes, over 70 master programmes and 19 doctoral programmes to over 14000 students.

We are a Romanian university with international diversification, having over 1000 foreign students of different nationalities coming from all of the world and +700 international partnerships and multiple collaborative international activities. TUIASI has also an important research dimension, having 24 research and excellence centers and accredited research laboratories, with a permanent focus on interdisciplinary research, innovation and knowledge transfer at international level. TUIASI recognized the importance of preparing the next generation of engineers and architects and invested in the last years in networks of didactic laboratories, in state-of-the-art equipment, learning rooms and creatives centres and hubs for students.

TUIASI students are accommodated in ”Tudor Vladimirescu” student campus, one of the largest campuses in South-East of Europe, a vibrant small city in the large city of Iasi, with a capacity of 21 halls of residence. Students benefit of free internet in both academic and student campuses, dormitory dedicated to international students with co–working creative space at the ground floor, convenient and affordable cafeteria services, sports facilities and an amazing student life.
